The Byre is a truly wonderful single storey granite holiday cottage that is ideal for couples. Situated on a small family farm surrounded by a stunning landscape where craggy moorland meets the sea, it is the perfect romantic hideaway and the ideal base to explore the dramatic Cornish coastline. Sumptuously furnished to an extremely high standard you will find everything you need for a relaxing and restorative break at any time of year.
If you are a couple looking for somewhere a little bit different to stay, the owner's have created something very special in this beautiful part of the country, a luxurious haven and a place for you both to escape for while.
The nearest pub, The Gurnards Head, with its award winning restaurant, is a leisurely five minute walk away and the beaches, restaurants, shops, galleries, cafes and bars of St Ives are just a fifteen minute drive along the coast. The historic village of Zennor and the renowned Tinners Arms is a mile away on the footpath across the fields - the scenery is spectacular with the sea as your backdrop. There are countless other walking opportunities literally on the doorstep.
Equipped with all the necessities of modern day living, the fixtures and fittings are top quality but still in keeping with the traditional nature of the building. Soft painted plasterwork, real oak and designer textiles in gentle seaside shades create a calming space in the open plan living area. The private enclosed garden has far reaching countryside views and a lovely decked area with seating, just the spot to enjoy a glass of something chilled! After a day of sea and surf or walking the coastal path the six foot bath is the place for a good long soak and the comfy mattress on the beautiful king size bed will aid a restful night’s sleep.

Entrance hall with seating and plenty of space for any outdoor kit and beach stuff.
Bright and spacious open plan living area.
Fully equipped kitchen area with everything you may need including dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge/freezer and a fabulous eclectic mix of bespoke china.
Dining area seating two in comfort.
Lounge with LCD television with Freeview and DVD, CD player and Wi-Fi access, along with a comfy sofa and a couple of armchairs.
Bathroom with six foot bath with shower over, heated towel rail and lots of space.
King size bedroom with room for storage, fitted wardrobes and feather pillows and duvet.
Outside: The garden is fully enclosed with countryside views and there is a lawned area and decking with garden furniture. A gate provides direct access to the route marked inland walks and also to the coastal path.
Additional information: In keeping with the times in which we live, the heating and hot water is supplied by solar panel with an immersion back up providing 24 hour hot water on demand. The sun really does shine for a lot of the year in this part of Cornwall! Short breaks and flexible arrival/departure days may be available out of season. Quality bed linen and plenty of towels provided. Guests are welcome to park at Trowan and then take the twenty minute countryside walk into St Ives from there. The owners are happy to accept babies under six months and a travel cot is provided.
Gear Farm, owned by Jess and Mark Pilcher, is a working farm with a small herd of award winning Aberdeen Angus Cattle and a few sheep. The family’s horses and dog also share the farmyard.

The perfect place to escape to, we loved being able to walk to the pub in the evening, great food.
Haven't felt so relaxed in years ! A truly idyllic location and we are already missing being able to enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset.
Thank you so much for making our first holiday as a couple so special, the scenery is stunning and we felt thorougly spoiled.
Amazing in every aspect, cant wait to return.
We had worried it was a bit out of the way,our fears were unfounded. In reality its a hidden gem, parking at Trowan and walking into St Ives was super.
We loved it so much we spent more time at the cottage than anywhere else, the walk to Zennor village is a must - so pretty.
