The perfect choice for a memorable holiday in South Cornwall. The St Ives Bay SK2 can accommodate parties of six in the West end; eight in the East end or larger groups of up to fourteen if both ends are hired together.
This beautiful railway carriage has been converted into self catering holiday accommodation and is sure to provide a wonderful, unique holiday experience where you can watch plenty of trains and relax.
Situated in the former goods yard, adjacent to the platform in the coastal town station of Hayle, West Cornwall, the station is on the Cornish main line and is only one stop away from the branch line to St Ives.
The carriage is a BR Mark 1 Corridor Second number SK25355 built in 1957. It has been converted into holiday accommodation and retains almost all of its wonderful original features including all the compartments, luggage racks, the lamp shades, mirrors, blinds and upholstery.
Hayle is the perfect place for a family holiday where there are lots of things to do for all ages. It is famous for its three miles of beautiful sandy beach and is located on the opposite side of St Ives Bay. The bay starts at the mouth of the estuary which is well known for being a good spot for birdwatchers and there are a good selection of restaurants and pubs in the area.
Since the advent of the railway, Cornwall has been an increasingly popular holiday destination. The wealth of beautiful beaches; dramatic coastlines; attractions including the Eden Project; pretty fishing villages; historic houses; mild climate, breathtaking coastal walks and the beautiful landscape and rolling countryside make this a fantastic holiday destination.

The St Ives Bay SK2 has been sympathetically converted to provide holiday accommodation with many original features. It is perfectly positioned within easy walking distance of the golden sands of Hayle beach, an excellent choice of Hayle restaurants and Paradise Park. Public transport is good with both train and bus access easy.
The carriage is divided into two holiday homes, each with its own kitchen, lounge/diner/bedroom, bathroom and bunkroom (the East End has an additional double bedroom). By booking both ends, the carriage has the capacity to accommodate large groups of friends or two families.
Both the East and West end feature:
Well equiped kitchen compartment with fridge, microwave/conventional oven, hob, toaster, kettle, etc.
Lounge/dining/twin or double bed compartment with television/DVD and CD/radio.
Bunk room with four singles or a double bed.

Additional information: Ample free parking on site. Enclosed garden with BBQ. Gas heated hot water and full central heating utilising original radiators.
