Reviews and Testimonials for Sky Cottage
5 Nov 10 Morning Cris, I just wanted to drop you a note to say how wonderful we thought your cottage was! The attention to detail throughout the cottage is a credit to you, if anything the photos on your website do not do it justice!! Also may I add that the service you offer throughout is first class, we tend to do one short break a year within the UK and never have we had someone so pleased to have our booking! It's a real USP for you! I'm sure we will be back in touch to return! Best wishes, Richard
5-12 June 10 Just a short note to thank you for the use of Sky Cottage for our holiday last week. We found the cottage to be an absolute delight and far outweighed our expectations, so much so we didn't want to come home. We had a fabulous holiday re-exploring all the old haunts that Si remembered from his youth. And of course sampling all the local foods and ales!
Thanks also for the wine & biscuits which were much appreciated. Best Regards
29 May - 5 June 2010
We've had a lovely week in Sky Cottage, thank you for the warm welcome of wine and biscuits. We've eaten well but hope we've walked most of it off throughout the week!
We did some lovely walks, some from the Blue 'Country walks in and around Fowey' booklet on the window sill in Sky Cottage.
Walk 11 is Lerryn - St Winnow, although we did a slight variation stopping for a very tasty burger at St Winnow's farm, served from a caravan. All the meat is reared on the farm, also tasty homemade cakes, cold/hot drinks and ice-creams.
Walk 3 - starting at Polkerris - v good chocolate brownies at the Polkadot cafe. Walked to the red and white day - mark at Gribbin Head and on to Polridmouth, then a detour back round to the car at Polkerris. We then walked the last part of the walk in reverse from Fowey to Polridmouth Beach and back the following day via St Catherine's Castle and Readymoney Beach. We also enjoyed the very pretty walk through woods and fields from Golant to Fowey and back.
We visited both the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. We thoroughly recommend Heligan which we preferred over the Eden Project, but perhaps that was due to the half terms crowds.
Food:
Tasty light lunch at Pinky's cafe with a retro/chilled atmosphere.
Delicious evening meal At Tiffin's, beautiful asparagus starter and mussels in garlic.
Tasty lasagne and steak and chips At the Fisherman's arms (v good aerial photo on the wall near front entrance)
V good Thai takeaway from Sala Thai in Tywardreath.
V good cream tea at Coombe farm £4.50 on walk back from Polridmouth to Readymoney Beach .
All in all we've had a really wonderful and relaxing holiday and are definitely sad to be heading back to London so soon. We hope to return sometime but until then, thanks to Cris and Paul for letting us stay in Sky Cottage. Alex and Matt
