Quick's cottage is one of three beautifully restored granite Victorian holiday cottages that are located in the delightful hamlet of Trowan, just a mile from the popular seaside town of St Ives with the superb Porthmeor Beach and the Tate St Ives.
Trowan is surrounded by rolling countryside and benefits from being positioned within spectacular coastal scenery on the Cornish Coast, with superb sea views.
The cottage is ideally located for spending time relaxing on the beach, enjoying a walking holiday or for visiting St Ives and the many attractions this area has to offer. It is an ideal all year round holiday destination where you can enjoy lazy sunny days on the beach or invigorating walks along the coastal path during the winter months.
What is today the hamlet of Trowan, used to be the ancient Manor of Trowan which used to be home to upwards of one hundred people. The hamlet pre-dates St Ives by hundreds of years and two years ago the entire hamlet was restored by a specialist development company that has won numerous awards for the quality of its restoration projects.
The restoration work was completed with the assistance of the National Trust where it included the restoration of the old Manor House, ruined former cottages adjacent to Quicks Cottage (some of which are also available to rent) and farm buildings. The hamlet enjoys plenty of private parking and also benefits from great access to the extensive network of local paths, fields and country walks.
St Ives can be reached in just five minutes by car (or taxi) or by walking the costal path which leads directly to the Tate gallery and the stunning Porthmeor Beach. This popular seaside town offers a superb range of restaurants and bars and a selection of interesting shops and boutiques to browse. It is a colourful town with a good range of practical facilities and attractions like the recently built leisure centre and swimming pool, cinema and a good supermarket.
The Coastal path from Trowan to Porthmeor Beach leads to one of Cornwall's finest beaches which is popular with both surfers and families and has very good facilities including showers and lifeguards. Wetsuits and surf boards can be hired most of the year and it is a fantastic place to watch the sun set over the sea with a glass of wine!
