Puffins Cottage is a traditional Cornish Cottage which is located in the popular village of Rock, and just 400 yards from a lovely sandy beach. The cottage is furnished to a high specification and offers all the facilities you will need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

Rock is located across the Camel estuary from the fishing port of Padstow which offers excellent restaurants and a seafood school. The beautiful mile long sandy beach at Rock stretches along the side of the estuary where at low tide you can stroll all the way around to Daymer Bay. The beach is fringed with dunes and the water is generally clear and calm, thus making this a popular place for water based leisure pursuits including fishing trips, angling, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing, water skiing and of course sailing. The sailing club is located on the waterfront and the waters in front are full of watercraft ranging from dinghies to yachts to luxury cruisers. There is also a regular foot ferry which takes you across to Padstow during the day and a water taxi is available for those wanting to stay out late. Rock has a village shop stocked with a superb selection of fine wines and cheeses and it also boasts one of the only two Michelin starred restaurants in Cornwall - the Black Pig (The other is the St Ervan Manor near Padstow).

Daymer Bay is just around the corner (or over the hill) and is popular with families as it offers relatively safe bathing and is a good place to sunbathe. St Enodoc is across the 18 hole golf course and has the diminutive church with its distinctive crooked 13th century steeple. The church is probably best known through its association with the former poet laureate, John Betjeman, who is buried there.

Further up the coast lies the surfing beach of Polzeath, the unspoilt fishing villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne.

This area offers some of the most rugged and dramatic coastline in Cornwall and there are superb walks along the coastal path. In the opposite direction lies Padstow, Trevose Head and Newquay.
