Gull Cottage is a beautiful, traditional Cornish cottage occupying one of the most enviable locations in the area, providing a truly idyllic place to stay. This delightful cottage sits in a small row of old cottages directly overlooking the beautiful and historic harbour of Boscastle. You can fall asleep to the sound of the sea and awaken to the cry of gulls whilst watching the boats bobbing on the turning tide below.
Many a relaxing hour can be spent sitting out and taking in the simply stunning views of the quay and sea beyond. Alternatively enjoy one of the many local restaurants and Cornish pubs or enjoy a cream tea.
Situated on the south-facing side of this beautiful harbour the cottage is easily recognised by its distinctive boat-seat attached to the front of the house which provides the perfect place to sit and read or simply to watch the world go by! The cottage is also located adjacent to the South West Coast path, providing an excellent base for those who enjoy walking and want to visit the many and varied attractions and beaches of North Cornwall and beyond.
Boscastle is an exceptionally beautiful village that is perfectly situated for enjoying the large number of attractions that Cornwall has to offer. For those who want to simply park up the car, there is much to see and enjoy within the village. There are so many beautiful walks that can be taken from the front door, either north along the coast towards the beautiful beach ‘Strangles’ or south towards Tintagel, the fabled home of King Arthur and his Round Table. There are also some lovely inland walks where you can stroll along the river and across rolling countryside.
North Cornwall has many stunning beaches and is renowned for having some of the best surfing beaches within the country (only a fifteen minute drive) including Crackington Haven, Bossiney and Widemouth Bay. Why not take the opportunity, whilst you are here, to learn to surf and enjoy the thrill of riding the waves!
Nearby, Bude is a pretty popular seaside town with two stunning beaches and a variety of activities available – whether you want to simply relax on the beach, watch the wildlife on the canal, walk the cliffs or take part in more extreme activities such as climbing, mountain-boarding and kayaking, there is something for everyone. It is also home to a number of good restaurants offering a wide variety of menus to suit most tastes.
For those who enjoy cycling, why not take a bike ride along the Camel Trail, a purpose built cycle track that runs for nearly seventeen miles from the edge of Bodmin Moor along the river valley to the harbour town of Padstow. The Camel Trail is the perfect way to avoid the roads, where you can enjoy lovely views and wildlife as you slowly make your way towards Padstow – the home of Rick Stein and a pretty fishing harbour offering an excellent selection of restaurants.
Alternatively, for those who want to venture a little further afield, the Eden Project, Newquay, National Trust properties, Heligan, Falmouth, Truro and many other attractions are within an hour’s drive.

Gull Cottage offers holiday accommodation that is not only in an exceptional position but that is also beautifully furnished and equipped to ensure your holiday is enjoyable and memorable in every way. The cottage is furnished to a high standard of comfort and style and beautifully combines both original period features with modern day comforts. Cosy for a romantic holiday for two and spacious enough to easily accommodate up to eight guests, this holiday cottage is highly desirable.
Accommodation/facilities:
Living and dining rooms which are located at the front of the property benefiting from stunning views across the harbour. Both rooms have the added feature of open fireplaces fitted with wood-burners – the perfect place to spend cosy autumn and winter evenings curled up in front of the fire!
Downstairs you will find a fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a separate utility room with another shower and washing machine.
In addition the house has separate heating and is fully equipped with everything you would expect for a comfortable stay at any time of the year, including TV, DVD and CD players.
Externally there is parking for two cars and a private terrace directly above the harbour where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the activities below – you may even catch sight of one of the seals which regularly visit the harbour.
Upstairs are four good sized bedrooms - two doubles with beautiful views across the harbour, one twin bedroom overlooking the old sail lofts to the rear and a bunk bed room with sea views.
There is also a stylish bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
