Consols Rest accommodates up to four guests and provides luxurious five star holiday accommodation that is not only furnished and equipped to a very high standard, but that still retains lots of original character and charm.
Located in the secluded and peaceful hamlet of Trowan, this delightful traditional granite cottage is surrounded by lush green meadows and wonderful panoramic sea views. The tiny ancient hamlet is perfectly positioned high on the clifftops in an area declared “of outstanding natural beauty” by the National Trust and is just a 20 minute picturesque countryside walk to the popular harbour town of St Ives.
St Ives has a unique charm and a distinct natural beauty; it is surrounded by miles of breathtaking Cornish coastline and has given inspiration to numerous famous artists and writers. It offers world class, clean, sandy beaches; there are 5 to choose from within minutes of the cottage, sub tropical gardens, museums and galleries; including The Tate and interesting shops to browse. Choose from the wide selection of places to eat and drink, award winning restaurants, traditional pubs, cafes and bars line the cobbled streets and surround the historic harbour, where local fishermen still land their daily catch.
In the summer you can enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the garden or watch the amazing night time display of shooting stars high up in the sky. Alternatively, take a winter break where you can enjoy an invigorating walk along the dramatic Cornish coastline, then snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy a film or some music from the extensive library provided.

Consols Rest has been beautifully restored with natural slate floors to the ground floor and timber floor boards alongside natural stone upstairs, contrasting perfectly with the exposed granite and soft painted plasterwork. The granite walls reflect the sunlight throughout the day, and on into the evening when spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from garden.
Accommodation comprises:
Large open plan living area which boasts a widescreen LCD television with Freeview, DVD, Bose soundsystem/Ipod dock and wireless internet connection.
Hand made kitchen with granite work tops offering every kind of facility required including a range style cooker, dishwasher, microwave, 24 bottle wine/drinks chiller and a dining table seating four.
Separate utility area providing a freezer, full washing/drying facilities and a downstairs WC.
Outside a dining table and chairs, loungers and a barbecue are provided. Both sets of french doors on the first floor open onto their own small balcony to enable guests to fully enjoy the sweeping views of the rolling moorland toward Rosewall Hill and across the adjacent pasture land to the sea beyond.
Master bedroom with a 5ft king size bed and en suite featuring an impressive vaulted ceiling with a walk in Grohe drench shower beneath.
Second twin bedroom with two 3ft beds - this room can also accommodate a cot.
Family bathroom with freestanding double ended rolltop bath which sits beneath the exposed granite walls. A second large corner shower and a third WC allows Consols Rest to accommodate both couples and families with a high degree of comfort.
Pretty patio and garden area to the front of the cottage which catches the morning sun and a large rear garden where you can enjoy the sunsets.
The hamlet is traffic free with parking for two cars at the entrance, easy access to the Coastal Path and the many route marked more inland walks.
Additional information: Upon arrival the cottage will be beautifully prepared with a welcome hamper and bottle of wine awaiting your arrival in the chiller. A personal chef and massage treatments are both available upon request within the privacy of the cottage. Guests have the benefit of reserved parking available within the heart of St Ives. Short breaks by arrangement out of season. Unfortunately pets can not be accepted and the cottage is non smoking. Normal changeover day is Friday but some Saturday to Saturday bookings may be available outside of peak/high season on request.
