At Cliff Cottage you can wake up to stunning sea views and spectacular coastline. This cosy, comfortable, 19th Century fisherman's cottage is located in an enviable position on the South West Coastal Path and sits above the bustling traditional fishing harbour of Mevagissey in South Cornwall.

The cottage is in a wonderful location, in an elevated position on the cliff at the edge of the village, looking out over the sea. No cars can get up there, so it is lovely and quiet and perfect for watching the boats coming in and out of the harbour. Only a few minute's walk to the village shops, restaurants, pubs, beach and clifftop park, this is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday by the sea.

Mevagissey is a wonderful place to stay if you enjoy fish (both eating and catching!). Local fishermen can provide you with charter boats to try and land some bass, mackerel or even shark! Alternatively, you can buy the fish straight off the boat in the harbour and enjoy a fish supper back at the cottage or eat it in one of the local pubs or restaurants - once the haunts of Cornish smugglers! This part of the coastline is beautiful and can be seen at its best from a boat. You can hire a motor boat, take a trip on one of the boats in the harbour, or travel a little further afield on the ferry that takes you to the pretty yachting town of Fowey.

For those who enjoy walking, the South West Coast Path runs outside the cottage. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the walks from and around Mevagissey are simply stunning. But if you can only make it to the top of the hill behind the cottage, an incredible view of the sea awaits you from the cliff top park. 

If relaxing on the beach is more your thing, there are plenty of beautiful beaches to choose from - Polstreath beach is accessed via the coastal path outside the cottage; Portmellon beach is a mile and a half away and is a small shingly beach; Charlestown has a large, stoney very safe private harbour beach with tall ships and childrens playground and the nearby village of Gorran Haven has a lovely safe sandy beach that is popular with families.

There are a number of beautiful gardens to visit. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is just up the road with two hundred acres of mysterious gardens and estate; Pine Lodge Gardens, with over six thousand rare and unusual plants; Lanhydrock House, beautifully set in wooded parkland of one thousand acres and encircled by a garden of rare shrubs and trees and the famous Eden Project, dubbed the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' by some.

Other nearby towns to explore include the unspolit Georgian village of Charlestown with its tall ships and Shipwreck Museum and the historic town of Lostwithiel which was once the capital of Cornwall and home to the ancient Restormel Castle.
