Bryony Cottage is located on the outskirts of the delightful coastal town of Fowey in the small hamlet of Newtown. Sleeping up to three guests, this lovely holiday cottage is full of character with exposed beams and a multi-fuel stove together with additional night storage heating, making it ideal at any time of the year.
Fowey is a pretty harbourside town that has a unique ancient unspoilt charm which is why visitors return time and time again. With a great array of restaurants, cafes, pubs and small independent shops surrounded by magnificent coastal scenery, small coves and beautiful beaches, it is no surprise that Fowey is so popular. There are some spectacular walks both along the coastal path and in country, along with the opportunity to try a number of outdoor activities including fishing, sailing or golf (Carlyon Bay, Lanhydrock and Porthpean are all within easy reach).
The estuary is a haven for wildlife, and one of the nicest ways to explore the beautiful natural harbour and estuary of Fowey is to hire a motor boat or canoe. Alternatively you can take a trip on a guided river boat which leaves the quayside on a regular basis.
There are a wide range of attractions to enjoy locally including St Catherine's Castle, Fowey Aquarium, Fowey Museum, a ferry trip to Mevagissey, the Fowey Regatta (in August), the Daphne Du Maurier festival (in May) or alternatively just sit and watch the sail boats go by whilst enjoying a leisurely lunch.
Closeby are the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Fowey also offers a great base from which to explore other Cornish gems such as Falmouth, Padstow, the Helford River and St Mawes to name but a few.
Relax and unwind in this outstanding area of natural beauty which can be enjoyed in all seasons.
