Ty Derw cottage is a delightful two bedroomed holiday cottage that is located on Tyglyn Vale, a private estate in the west Wales county of Ceredigion. It is located in the stunning Aeron Valley and just three miles from the pretty Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. The beautiful unspoilt beaches of Tresaith, Mwnt and Penbryn are also nearby.
The area has a good selection of things to see and do or alternatively you can simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings where you can walk or cycle the quiet country lanes. The TyGlyn Hotel is located just fifty metres from Ty Derw Cottage allowing guests to stroll out for dinner or lunch without the need to use the car.
Nearby, the town of Aberaeron, with its pretty colourfully painted houses, provides a good choice of pubs, restaurants and shops selling local produce. You will also find two pebble beaches at Aberaeron, and you can enjoy a 'dolphin spotting' boat trip from the harbour. New Quay, with it's lovely sandy beach, is several miles to the south and has a great beach that the family can enjoy, along with a good choice of restaurants and pubs.
The coast of Cardigan Bay provides some spectacular beaches, along with wonderful walks along the coastal path and through beautiful rolling countryside. Cycling is also a pleasure with not only quiet country lanes but many dedicated cycle routes, mountain bike trails and cycle paths.
For those who enjoy fishing, there are many opportunities within the area, from excellent trout and salmon fishing on the local rivers, to sea fishing on the stunning coastline and you can also enjoy coarse fishing in one of the many still-water fisheries.
Golfers too will not be disappointed with several golf courses in Ceredigion - the nearest being Penlanlas on the coast.
There are plenty of attractions within the area for all ages (including the Red Kite Feeding Centre, Fantasy Farm Park and Borth Animalarium) - whether you are looking for a relaxing family holiday or want to explore the area, this is the ideal base.

The cottage sleeps four guests and is clean and modern after recently being renovated. It has hardwood flooring, and electric central heating throughout and provides the following facilities:
Large reception with a comfortable lounge area with two sofas and TV/DVD; a dining area with seating for four; and a conservatory with wicker furniture.
Two bedrooms - one double and a twin, and both with ample storage.
Modern kitchen which is well equiped with electric cooker/hob, fridge with freezer box, microwave oven, washing machine, dishwasher, and the usual small appliances.
Bathroom with bath with shower extension, WC, handbasin and heated towel rail.
Outside, to the front there is a large decked area, which is the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea, or something stronger, whilst watching the red kites soar overhead.
Surrounding the property is a large expanse of lawn providing a great place for the children to let off some steam! The lawned grounds of Tyglyn are also perfect for a picnic, where you can take in the lovely Ceredigion landscape.
The 'secret garden' of Tyglyn Aeron is just a ten minute walk away where you will find a play area for small children. It is also a good place to spend hours exploring, birdwatching, or simply relaxing.
The property is on one level, however, whilst accessible for most, please note there are three or four external steps, making access difficult for wheelchair users.
Dedicated parking for two cars.
Additional information: A cot is available for little ones. No smoking, and no pets. Bed linen provided but not towels. All electricity included in rental.
