Penrhiw is a three hundred-year-old, traditional Welsh Stone detached holiday cottage that sleeps up to four guests. It has recently been renovated to a high standard of comfort and style and provides the perfect country holiday retreat within just four miles of a beautiful sandy beach (see the photo below). The beach (Ynlas sand dunes) is an award wining beach with visitors centre.
The holiday cottage is located in a tranquil position just outside the village of Tal-y-bont and is set in the middle of rolling farmland with stunning views down the valley. There is easy access to spectacular walks and bridle ways and also adventurous mountain bike tracks.
For those who enjoy bird watching and wildlife, there is a good local RSPB reserve near by with a red kites feeding station.
Penrhiw is only a short walk to a shop and Post office and pubs that serve good reasonably priced food. Aberystwyth is five miles away and the lovely country town of Machynlleth is only twelve miles with its quaint shops, Museum of modern art and Owain Glyndwr (proclaimed prince of Wales in 1400) centre. Closeby there is also the famous Centre for Alternative Technology, a great place to visit which also offers short courses, kids activity days and day events on organic gardening, painting and of course, alternative technology.
