The surrounding area is excellent for those with a passion for cycling, fishing (on the rivers Towy and Cothi), walking, photography and birdwatching, as well as offering easy access by car to the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Brechfa Forest mountain bike trails, historic castles, Botanical Gardens and houses and even the glorious Welsh coastline. Ash Tree Lodge sleeps up to eight guests and is located outside Llanfynydd village, just twelve miles the oldest Welsh town of Carmarthen, and seven miles the bustling riverside market town of Llandeilo with its great range of interesting shops. Conveniently positioned, Ashtree Cottage is within easy driving distance of the areas many attractions including Oakwood Theme Park or Folly Farm (sure to be a hit with the younger party members), the secret gardens and magnificent medieval house of Aberglasney, and The popular National Botanical Garden of Wales - all within easy reach of Ashtree Cottage.
The cottage itself is surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens with fantastic views over the Towy valley and Black Mountains. The property is approached by a long sloping driveway and backs onto a copse of native trees with wild flowers growing beneath, providing a haven for a variety of birds. Beyond this is a field with plenty to keep the children occupied including an activity trail, slide, swings and trampoline.
Whether you are young or old, a couple or family, you are very welcome, there is plenty to do if you choose to do so. If not absorb the tranquility of the cottage, nestling in its own unique gardens.

Ashtree Cottage, converted from a carpenter’s workshop is built with the larger family in mind, in recent years family and friends having a holiday together have become very popular, sharing activities, along with responsibilities if bringing others family members with mobility needs.
This large comfy holiday lodge has much appeal to walkers, photographers, golfers, artists and also those who enjoy extreme sports like mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, windsurfing, quad biking and for the brave, coasteering and abseiling. The property is ideal for holidaymakers with accessibility needs who have been greatly catered for with wheelchair manoeuvrability throughout this single level holiday home with bedrooms aimed at accommodating every individual. Inside - The open-plan living area has a large kitchen/diner with extendable table and chairs. The hallway leads to two double bedrooms, a three bedded room which overlooks the fields and has a bunk bed and single bed sleeping three. Also a single room which is wheelchair friendly with an electric adjustable bed. There is a family bathroom which has bath and shower plus a wet-room. The play room is an excellent place for the children to play whilst the adults relax in the spacious lounge. This spacious living space is incredibly versatile and welcoming for all.
Outside - There is decking around the property with wheelchair friendly paths and ramps. plenty of off-road parking and a children's play area with swings, slides, trapeze bars, net ball hoop and a large trampoline sitting in a large field (two acres) providing plenty of space for games. There is also a special swing with two size's of full support seats with harnesses for adults and children with specialist needs. There is secure storage for mountain bikes, outdoor gear and car top boxes.

Please note: Please enquire regarding Xmas and New Year rates. Prices listed are based on eight people sharing. Electricity is included in the price. Central heating and hot water is included within the price. Please bring your own towels.
Group bookings: When Ashtree Cottage and Stangwrach Cottage are rented together, larger groups of 12 can be accommodated. However arrival days are different, Stangwrach Cottage Fridays, AshTree Cottage Saturdays in peek season. This is due to the intensive clean that we carry out after each property is vacated.

This property is all on one level with step free access, wheelchair friendly with a wet-room and second family bathroom. Profiling bed is available and a portable hoist can be hired.A second profiling bed can be hired for this property and placed in the playroom if requested. We also have Sara stedy for transferring your loved one from chair to bed, bed to toilet. Guest must have ability to pull themselves up from a sitting position.
