Waterside Cottage is a charming 150 year old detached holiday cottage in an elevated position alongside the Grand Union Canal. It provides the perfect place to spend a relaxing and fun holiday where guests can simply sit and watch the boats go by or partake in outdoor activities including fishing and canoeing.
The cottage is located within a working boatyard, on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, close to the market town of Leighton Buzzard and is perfect for families looking for a different kind of holiday, with lots of boats coming and going and plenty to see and do. It is a twenty minute walk from a choice of pubs, shops and restaurants, and twenty five minutes to a leisure centre.
Within the local area there are many National Trust properties, places of interest and other historic sights. The canal side location also allows guests to hire local day boats and explore the canal and its many delights.
For those wanting to explore the area, Milton Keynes & Whipsnade Zoo are just eight miles. Woburn Abbey & Safari Park is five miles and Stoke Bruerne and the Waterways museum are twenty miles. Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead and Bedford are all within twenty miles and the Chiltern Hills, Ridgeway walk & Tring Reservoirs are just six miles.
You are able to launch your own canoes/dinghy by the cottage and fishing on the canal is also available (national rod license required/local day ticket is £3).

Six bedrooms - One ensuite double, three twins (one with 3ft bunk beds) and attick stairs to one single and one twin room with sloping ceilings (ideal for teenagers).
Small attic lounge suitable for up to three people with television and DVD player providing the ideal place to escape for some peace and quiet!
Dining Room.
Bathrooms: Downstairs, one en-suite with toilet, two basins, bidet, shower, washer and dryer; one with toilet, basin, shower over bath and a third bathroom with shower, WC and wash basin.
Large boatyard grounds with small, private back garden with barbecue and picnic bench and front terrace with table and chairs.
Additional information: Duvets, linen & some towels provided. Cot supplied. Wireless internet access at no extra charge. Parking for four cars outside cottage, further cars can be left in the car park. Full gas heating and electricity all included. Logs are available at £6 per basket. Access to canal frontage (children take care). You can bring your own canoe/dinghy for use on the canal, a license is not required if you are a member of the British Canoe Union. Buoyancy aids available. Short breaks available throughout the whole year (apart from bank holidays). Prices shown are based on 1-5 guests sharing the cottage - full prices can be seen on the owners own website. The cottage is rated 4 star for up to eight guests and 3 star for 9-11 guests.
