Gardener’s Cottage is in an enviable position located by beautiful Loch Fyne, Scotland's longest loch. It is a detached holiday cottage that can accommodate four guests (plus baby) in three bedrooms and is set in a delightful wild garden which guests can enjoy and explore. Across the road are the shores of Loch Fyne which are stunning at sunset or first thing in the morning, providing your very own special piece of Scotland.
Loch Fyne is a haven for wild life with seabirds such as gannets, gulls, cormorants and also buzzards. Seals often appear off the coast-line near to the cottage and there are also dolphins and basking sharks. Whale-watching and sea eagle spotting boat tours can be taken from nearby Ardfern and Argyll has red squirrels, (which can be seen in the garden) and deer. Beavers have been successfully reintroduced into the Knapdale forest (near Loch Coille-bhar) which is an area of beautiful woodland walks and trails.
The surrounding area around Lochgilphead offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities including walking, pony-trekking, boating and cycling (bikes can be hired in the town and there is a nine mile trail along the Crinan canal, and other tracks located around the area). With such natural surrounding beauty and wildlife, the area is also ideal for those who are keen on photography.
Lochgilphead is just ten minutes away and has everything you should need to stock up on provisions, along with the ‘Argyll Cafe’ for excellent breakfasts and coffee or the ‘Smiddy’ for delicious local food.
